Congratulations to Professor Kazuo Yamazaki

Professor Kazuo Yamazaki has secured a donation of equipment for the College

of Engineering Student Machine Shop, valued at $62,302.50, from Johannes Heidenhain GmbH of Traunreut, Germany. The equipment comprises 6 vertical CNC milling machines, which will help to modernize the manufacturing technology available to train MAE students, and will be invaluable to them in extra-curricular projects. Sodick Co., Ltd, pledged $1 million for Professor Yamazaki's new reseach project,

OMNI-CNC.. taking machine tool systems to another level of sophistication and problem-solving.  Sodick's continuing support of Professor Yamazaki's work is very important to his success as a researcher and as a teacher of future mechanical engineers. (March 2004)

DTL Mori Seiki Inc in West Sacramento, a division of one of the world's largest manufacturers of machine tools, has given $3 million to the College of Engineering. The money will fund Professor Yamazaki's work using computers to operate manufacturing and design tools.

1980, 1987, and 1991.
