Here are some of the projects and organizations in which Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering students are involved.

Aeronautical Design Team The Aero Design project was established by Professor Sarigul-Klijn in Septermber 1994 and since then it has become a yearly event for our students.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers The primary purpose of ASME, at the student level, is to educate students about the mechanical engineering profession. We, here at UC Davis, accomplish this by facilitating interactions between students and representatives from industry.
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is an Engineering Club dedicated to people who like Airplane and Space related stuff.
Formula SAE Formula SAE is an annual competition where student teams race their own ground-up Indy-style racecars. UC Davis will be entering the competition in May 1999.
Human Powered Vehicle

 

The Human-Powered Vehicle Team has focused on collegiate competition. Our engineering teams have set many national and world records in vehicle performance and efficiency.

Challenge X

 

 

 

CHALLENGE X ACCEPTED — UC Davis student Rob Kamisky,(center) receives $10,000 from General Motors on behalf of the university for his team's participation in Challenge X, a three-year competition where 17 universities across North America will redesign a G.M. sport utility vehicle to give it better fuel economy and cleaner vehicle emissions. Tom Stevens, (right) G.M. group vice president of powertrain, presents the check. David Garman, the U.S. Department of Energy's acting undersecretary & assistant secretary of energy efficiency, also attended the ceremony.
