Monday 10/26/10 - 2011 Car Update!

FSAE is starting a new year and is currenly looking for new members. If you are interested in building or working on 2010-2011 FSAE car please come by the Engineering Fabrication Lab (Bainer Shop) in 1220 Bainer Hall.

 

Saturday 5/12/10 - Spring Update!

Competition is getting close and UC Davis FSAE is very close to having an entire running car. There are a few little things that still must be completed to have a running car. Click on the picture to the right to enlarge it and see for yourself. Everyone is working hard and excited for competition starting June 16th at Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, CA. More information will be available as we get closer. Stay Tuned.

 

Tuesday 1/12/10 - Winter Quarter Update!

Welcome Back, We will be having a driving day and recruitment meeting on Saturday, January 16. We will be meeting in 1230 Bainer at 11 am. Our car is on it's way to completion and the chassis and uprights are very close to being finished. We hope to see everyone at the meeting on Saturday. If you can not make it please email John or Logan.

 

Sunday: 9/28/08 - End/Begining of the year updates!

It has been a while since there was a update, but for good reason, we were diligently at work on the car to get it up and ready for competition. You can find competition pictures in the gallery, and more info at our Recruitment meeting on Thursday October 2nd. We are meeting at the shop, 1230 Bainer 6:30pm, then preceeding to a meeting room. Come and find out more information about us, how to join, and the car!

 

Sunday: 6/1/08 - New Pictures!

Loads of new updates, including the new body and diff mounts.

 

Sunday: 5/4/08 - Rolling Chassis!

We finished machining the front hubs and got the chassis rolling on Friday. The wheels are also finished.

 

Wednesday: 4/23/08 - Updates/Picnic Day

We had a relatively productive picnic day with some monkey bike races in front of the shop. Marty set an impressive lap time of 18.5sec around the course, beating the next contender by over 4 seconds. The new seat is also finished and mounted.

 

Wednesday: 4/16/08 - Updates on the 07-08 car

We got the new exhaust from Burns Stainless with a 4-1 collector. More pictures in the Gallery section.

 

Saturday: 4/1/08 - Updates

New update pictures in the gallery section. The pedal assembly and intake manifold are coming along.

 

Saturday: 2/16/08 - Lots of new stuff on the 07-08 car

We recieved a bunch of new parts for the new car. The wheel centers on the right are cast from magnesium. Check out the Gallery page for more pictures.

 

Tuesday: 10/17/06 - First recruitment meeting

Tuesday we held our first big recruitment meeting to try and gather some more team members for the 2008 competition. We were pleased with the turnout and had quite a few promising students show interest in the project. We met in a lecture hall to show an 'inspirational' video and give a brief description of the competition and the teams goals, then led the group over to our lab to show them the cars up close and allow everyone to ask questions. We're aiming to compete in the 2008 competition, and we'll need a strong team to help build the car in time. We're hopeful that a large portion of the group will remain interested and dedicated throughout the year.
