
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department seeks to recruit a pool of part-time Temporary Lecturer positions during Academic Year 2020-21. The successful candidate is expected to teach one or more lectures and/or laboratory undergraduate courses. A list of potential courses is attached below. Other courses may be available depending on instructional needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum professional degree requirement is a Master’s degree, but PhD is preferred, in Mechanical Engineering or in Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree.
- Evidence of teaching excellence or potential for excellence, and a commitment to quality undergraduate education. Prior teaching experience preferred.
- A progressive record of scholarly or professional achievement in an area of expertise related to the subject area of the course.
General Information
The MAE Department at the University of California, Davis, offers undergraduate majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Aerospace Science and Engineering. As well, the department offers the Master of Science (MS) and PhD degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
The Davis campus, third oldest in the ten-campus University of California system, offers a full range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The city of Davis is a progressive university town of about 64,000 located in the Sacramento Valley 72 miles northeast of San Francisco and 15 miles west of Sacramento, California's capital.
Salary and Appointment Level
Commensurate with experience and course assignment. Actual salary is based on percentage of appointment: One four-unit course = 33% appointment. These positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
