MAE Alumni Challenge Donors for Give Day 2021

UC Davis Give Day 2021, campus’ fifth annual fundraising event is this weekend, from Friday April 16 at 12 p.m. to Saturday April 17 at 5 p.m. and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is looking for support.

This year, Joanne (’87 B.S. Mechanical Engineering) her husband Andy Botka (87 B.S. Electrical Engineering) are challenging alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the department to get involved during the two-day event. With at least 15 gifts of any amount, the Botkas have pledged to donate $2,500 to the department, hoping to incentivize gifts and support the department’s education and research.

Support the MAE department

All Give Day gifts to the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Excellence fund will go towards improving the undergraduate student experience by helping the department upgrade its labs and equipment. These labs and equipment are used by undergraduates both in their lab classes and in research.

Last year’s Give Day shattered previous records and brought in $2.5 million from nearly 5,000 individual gifts from donors around the globe. The College of Engineering received 305 of those gifts and raised over $103,000 across all departments. UC Davis, the College of Engineering and the MAE department all hope to continue this success in 2021 to support Aggie engineers as they prepare for graduation and beyond.

Give to the MAE Excellence Fund.
