Professor Delplanque's research centers on the modeling and numerical simulation of multiphase fluid flow and heat transfer. Applications are interdisciplinary in nature, crossing the boundaries between mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science and biomedical engineering. Specific projects range from the uncertainty quantification of additive manufacturing processes to the numerical characterization of the interactions between inhaled particles and the mucociliary escalator in the human respiratory system.
